The role of fire fighters is to control fires, but also to rescue the occupants of damaged homes. This time, the firefighters showed bravery by saving the 3 cats who were trapped inside the burning apartment.
It is around 6 p.m. this Thursday, May 26, 2022 when the alarm sounds in a fire station in Moselle . A fire actually broke out in a home on the first floor of a small building located on rue Wilson in the town of Hagondange in Lorraine .
Firefighters intervened without delay, aware that the fire was likely to quickly spread to other homes in this row of terraced houses. In all, nearly twenty rescuers arrived on site within a few minutes.
They were immediately informed that the burning apartment and the one on the ground floor were empty. But the owner who had just arrived there exclaimed: “I have my cats inside”!
The firefighters, using their fire hose, quickly brought the flames under control, which at first sight came from the kitchen. Then they went into reconnaissance and discovered the 3 felines in the home, reports Le Républicain Lorrain .
Fortunately, they were safe and sound, although one of them had to be oxygenated with an artificial respirator. The poor animal had in fact inhaled a lot of toxic smoke. A check-up visit to the veterinarian revealed that his life was not in danger.
An investigation is underway to determine the causes of the incident. It was probably a faulty electrical appliance that caught fire. As for the family, they had to be rehoused, but the most important thing for them is to have the chance to be together.
