WAG Rebekah Vardy is thought to have a plan to bounce back from her legal blows and get one up on her old foe Coleen Rooney.
The mum-of-five is said to be seething at her fellow WAG Coleen since a judge ruled in Wayne Rooney’s wife’s favour two years ago, with Rebekah convinced Coleen has been “rubbing her victory” in her face with a books deals and a Disney Plus series. But Rebekah has a plan to capitalise on the Wagatha drama herself.
It’s been a whirlwind five years since Coleen Rooney rocked the celeb world, accusing Rebekah Vardy of leaking personal stories about her to the press in a bombshell social media post. This sparked the infamous Wagatha Christie trial in 2022, where Coleen triumphed after Rebekah’s libel claim fell flat, but it appears the drama is far from over.
Just last week, the WAGs were back in court, this time squaring off over Coleen’s hefty £1.8 million legal bill. Rebekah, ordered to foot 90% of Coleen’s costs, challenged the “sheer magnitude” of these fees, claiming they included an exorbitant bill for one of her lawyers’ stay at a swanky London hotel, complete with food and mini-bar charges.
In response, Coleen’s lawyer hit back, asserting that claims about hotel expenses were “factually incorrect”. He also argued that the costs could have been lower if Rebekah had “conducted this litigation appropriately”. In another win for Coleen, a judge ruled that her legal team hadn’t engaged in any misconduct and it was “not appropriate” to slash her legal bill. Rebekah was also ordered to cough up an additional £100,000, with the total settlement due to be decided next year.
However, a source close to Rebekah, 42, has revealed to OK! that she is allegedly far from finished in her dispute with Coleen, 38. According to the insider: “Becky can’t help herself and she is determined to get the final say in all of this. She is still furious that the judge ruled in Coleen’s favour initially, as she insists she didn’t do it. She’s upset at this latest ruling, but she’s not letting it get her down as she’s determined Coleen and her team won’t get away with this,” hinting that Rebekah has more plans in store.

The source continued: “There will be another hearing next year where the final bill will be decided and she will make sure her team goes all out to ensure she doesn’t pay Coleen’s full bill. She won’t let this go. Becky has got a thick skin and doesn’t care what people are saying. The £100,000 she was ordered to pay was less than Coleen’s team wanted, so Becky doesn’t see it as a huge loss. She won’t be put off by this and she is still determined to get one over on Coleen, one way or another.”
Meanwhile, Coleen has been in the spotlight, particularly with the release of her Disney Plus documentary, The Real Wagatha Story, where she and her husband Wayne, 38, shared their side of the story publicly for the first time. Coleen has also been featured in various high-profile interviews, including with Vogue, and has written her book, ‘My Account.
‘Despite Rebekah’s seemingly quieter stance, a source claims that the wife of Leicester City star Jamie, 37, isn’t planning to fade into the background. “Many people thought that Becky would just disappear from the public eye after the court case and while she’s taken some time away, she recently told her Instagram followers that she was preparing for her comeback. She’s of the thinking that all publicity is good publicity and it gets her back in people’s minds again. She’s not going away, even if Coleen wants her to,” the source alleges.
“She feels Coleen has really been rubbing it in her face with her documentary, books and interviews and she wants to get the last laugh and won’t stop until she does. Becky wants some vindication, but Coleen just wants her to pay so she can finally move on.” Furthermore, with rumours that husband Jamie is working on a documentary about his career, with Rebekah expected to take on a starring role, it could thrust her back into the limelight.
“She knows that Jamie’s career will come to an end soon and she wants them to become more of a celebrity couple. The documentary that Jamie is reportedly to be working on will give Becky a chance to talk about the court case again,” the source adds. “She will never get over losing the court case or how Coleen outed her, and she won’t stop until she feels she’s got a little bit of justice for herself.”
