Lady Gaga Knew What She Wanted Before Her First Date with Michael Polansky
Lady Gaga didn’t waste any time making her intentions clear when she first met Michael Polansky in person.
The 38-year-old pop icon and Oscar winner, who got engaged to Polansky in 2024, revealed in an interview with Good Morning America that she asked him a life-changing question before they even sat down for their first date.
“I wanted marriage and kids more than anything,” Gaga shared. “Michael flew to Vegas when I was doing my show to take me on our first date, and before we even sat down, I said, ‘Do you want marriage and kids?’ And he goes, ‘Yeah, I do.’ And I said, ‘Okay, great, do you want some champagne?’ And he said, ‘Sure.’”
The Joker: Folie à Deux star explained that she wanted Polansky to understand from the start that she was “a family girl.” Fortunately, he was on the same page.
Gaga also opened up about why Polansky is “the one” for her, gushing about his kindness and unwavering support. “He just loves the whole me,” she said. “He’s my best friend. Being in a partnership with your best friend is a huge blessing. I couldn’t imagine going through life with anyone but him.”
Beyond their romantic connection, Gaga and Polansky share a deep creative bond. The tech investor has even collaborated with her on new music, including her upcoming album, Mayhem. “He’s really creative. He plays guitar. He’s a beautiful musician as well,” she shared. “We have a really creative relationship. My album’s called Mayhem, but it’s also nice to be in the mayhem with someone else.”
When asked about wedding planning, Gaga kept things mysterious, laughing and simply saying, “It’s going, it’s going.”
The couple, who first sparked romance rumors in 2020, have managed to navigate their relationship despite the pressures of fame. In a recent interview, Polansky admitted that dating a global superstar comes with its challenges but emphasized the importance of keeping strong friendships and family ties.
“Our relationship is probably a lot like everyone else’s. We just have to figure out how to do some of it in public,” he told Elle. “That makes it even more important for us to have strong friendships and close family relationships. We find normalcy where we can.”
