This cat appeared to have perished after an accident, but a miraculous turn of events unfolded…
Two weeks ago, our rescue team received a video and a plea for help in their mailbox. The scene in the video brought tears to my eyes. The sender informed us that a cat had been hit by a car and was unable to get up. This condition had been going on for three days, with the cat in pain, exhausted, unable to move, and only crying out. Its life was in imminent danger.
We immediately moved to the location they indicated to find the cat. Fortunately, we found it quickly as it had remained nearby and hadn’t moved too far from the area. I held its trembling and painful body in my arms. We took the cat to the veterinary hospital to conduct necessary tests and begin treatment immediately.
The cat was reported to have multiple injuries and was in critical condition. Its leg and thigh were fractured and heavily infected, beyond recovery. Amputation surgery was the only option, but the cat’s current health condition did not permit it. Additionally, it had also suffered nerve damage, unable to urinate on its own and requiring artificial aid.
The vet cleaned and fed the cat with some liquid food. It was given emergency medication intravenously and a small drip tube was fixed on its leg for convenient administration of medication in the future. Throughout the following week, the cat had to stay at the hospital in a special care room.
We visited the cat every day, and it always remained well-behaved and grateful. After a week of hospitalization, the doctor announced that the cat could undergo surgery as soon as possible. So, the next day, the cat underwent a surgery that lasted over 2 hours.
Everything went smoothly, and the cat will soon recover. After 6 days, it was able to move on its own. The cat also started eating and drinking better, and the situation is no longer of great concern. The doctor allowed the cat to be discharged and return to the rescue team with us.
Welcome to the rescue team, the new member. We pledge to always care for and take good care of this cat. Hopefully, its health will be restored soon.
